Potions.
Potions - would be considered substances composed of a mixture of herbs (including potions in a liquid form). Potions are prepared in a duly manner based on recipes that include variety of ingredients.
It is known that ancient potions have had medicinal (medical) property, poisonous (toxic) characteristic or bewitched (magical) property. Potions are not meant for universal usage but rather for individual or peculiar purpose.
Potion is nothing but a substance consisting out of plants, animal and mineral ingredients, that are forming a single unit by inter-connecting through various methods such as: “boiling, soaking, distillation, etc., with the cast of appropriate spells, or without it; It has an impact over the body as a treatment, conversion, or mental effect. By not following strictly the instructions, either dosage, or a cast of a spell may lead to deadly consequences.
The conventional classification of potions:
1. Medical Potions (medical treatment) - have generally a healing effect on the body. The medical potions are commonly attributed to: “antidotes, potions that have strengthening or rejuvenating proprieties which are used after hex (curse) removal or any other damage produced by witchcraft on the person.
2. Polyjuice Potion – this mixture aims to affect and transform the appearance or image of the person, by modifying the shape of the body and produces anti-aging and cosmetic changes along with so called: “Maras?” potion, which is capable for a short period of time to radically transform the image of the human being, beyond recognition.
3. Soul Potion – this potion targets the person’s soul by affecting and transforming the qualities and properties of it; the potion deprives a human being from his free will and can influence person’s mind, thoughts, and may be used as a way to heal a person or on contrary to destroy and even cripple his soul. Under its influence, a man is prone to do insane things, e.g. murder.
4.Manna Potion – it is a range of potions which affect sexual desires and preferences, dormancy, the increase of endurance, etc., the ability to influence the human brain. On a separate note, potions used for love affairs, should not be called “Philtre”, but rather should be named – “Love Elixir”.
5. Brand Name Potion – it is one of the most challenging spectrum of potions in the field of study, because these potions were invented and subsequently named after their own creators (e.g. Abramelin Potion, who has ultimately became notorious by inventing his self-named potion), in a particular case, that produced an unpredictable effect (not necessarily in bad sense), but rather a disruptive or unforeseen effect. For the most part, these potions are rarely used by general public, and if they are prepared, then the person has to be extremely cautions and to observe closely the instructions, nonetheless, usually, the savviest professionals of the field are engaged in their preparation.
