VI. Lovers (The Black Tarot).
Lovers-existing love couple and the third extra, possible
another path that promises new joys or new sufferings. Just the slightest movement is enough to step on it, but for movement you need a desire for change.
Three figures, each of which is incomplete, but two of them can make a pair, however, the Lovers do not dare to break the delicate balance that they themselves have created from the need to choose, they remain immovable and therefore inferior. Only their own inertness holds them together, but their almost ridiculous, unstable triple bond can be stronger than steel.
Meaning in direct position: attraction, sexual arousal; the need to make a choice; waiting for the right moment.
Value in the inverted position: the destruction of a long connection; interdependence; a past wrong decision has a negative effect on the present.
A card that strengthens the meaning: Hung-Arkan of uncertainty, of eternal being between two possible paths, its influence stops any possible movement to change for the Lovers, forever freezing them between two possible paths.
A weakening card: a Three of Swords means the collapse of a relationship within a couple, and not necessarily a love affair; the Three of Swords not only dissect the connection between the Lovers, but deprives them of the dilemma that is the basis of their existence.
The map that changes the meaning: the Five of the Wands make the choice of the Enamored with a fierce struggle, brings the conflict to a new, physical level, turns doubts into aggression.
